The Octonauts is a cute little group of animals diving the deepness of seven seas and trying to help all the sea animals they found. They have this cute ship that resembles an octopus (hence the name), and the group is integrated by Captain Barnacles, Dr. Shellington, Professor Inkling, Tunip the Vegimal, Sauci Dog, Peso Penguin, Lt. Okay, let’s type Chino

Okay, let’s type Chino

There’s a lot of type today so let’s begin: Sudtipos released today Bravissima, a wild script typeface, which according to Robert Bringhurst would be an expressionist typeface. Looks really good as it is  usual with Sudtipos. Are you already a fan of Sudtipos in Facebook?

Molestown by DGPH

Molestown by DGPH

Molestown is a cute game built by the DGPH studio from Argentina. Its aesthetics is taken from the trends of the Toy Art movement in Argentina. DGPH was one of first studios, along with the renowned studio DOMA, to experiment with this style and start doodling around cute characters (but with a bit of a dark side) in every wall they found. I’m sure all of you know Alex Trochut but maybe we’ve been missing a diamond, and that is the work from Marta Cerdà. She lectured about modular lettering and how she started building some of her alphabets, sometimes as a personal work, but later used in commercial projects.

itpints.com redesign: thoughts behind the design process

itpints.com redesign: thoughts behind the design process

A while ago the itpints’ manager, Javier Arias, approached me to redesign their site. He wanted a new experience of usability for the search engine and at the same time, a clean but artsy look. I started doing some research about many web search engines: classic engines where results are sorted mainly by relevance, (like Google’s search, whether it’s the old or the new infrastructure) and those that offer a real-time search, like SocialMention.
